Understand a Qualified Valuation as a Business Enhancement or Succession Planning Tool
$25.00Value-driven Businesses increase your options by systematizing the magic you’ve applied to creating success up to this point. They command stability for internal transitions, as well as the highest market value if you decide to sell. Simply recasting financials to find a new EBITDA and estimating a factor does not make a true valuation – even when combined with a calculation of fixed assets and goodwill. Misunderstanding enterprise value, a lifestyle business, and/or discrete and non-discrete intangible assets often cause businesses to lose value. Learn the anatomy and nuances of Assessments/Valuations, how to use them as a punch list, and how to transition from a Wisdom-driven Business to a Value-driven Business.

Benefits of Planning – Understanding the Options You’re Entitled To
$25.00Confronting the costs of long-term care is often the largest expense a couple will face. Families often believe that it is too late or early to plan – and they must bare these costs on their own. Though this may have been true 10 or 20 years ago, that is not the law now. Also, on September 18, 2018, the VA published new rules to qualify, including penalizations for any gift made in the past 36 months as well as investments towards annuities. We understand that families often feel overwhelmed and are relieved to find a path to working through it all.

The Bucket Plan – Segmenting Your Money Based on Purpose and Time Horizon
$25.00The two biggest risks to a systematic withdrawal plan are inflation, and something known as “sequence-of-returns risk”. Sequence-of-returns risk is the risk of receiving lower or negative returns early in a period when withdrawals are made from an individual’s underlying investments. The order or sequence of investment returns is a primary concern for retirees who are living off the income and capital of their investments.
Another misconception we see is people think that legacy planning is “just for the kids.” However, legacy planning is actually MOST important for the surviving spouse. Going from married to single tax brackets, the standard deduction is cut in half, marginal brackets shrink, and overall taxes go up dramatically. Added to which, losing one of the two Social Security payments and potential pensions, income is almost always reduced as well. So taxes go up and income goes down for a surviving spouse.

The Bespoke Protector: Tailoring Third Party Powers to a Strategy’s Demands
$25.00The use of trust advisors and protectors in domestic trusts has increased dramatically in recent years. The popularity of trust advisors and protectors is reflected in the growing body of statutory recognition, extending beyond directed trust statutes to other states as the Uniform Trust Code spreads. Though statutory law is growing in the U.S., there is scant case law to guide practitioners through some of the more challenging issues concerning trust advisors and protectors. Moreover, scholars disagree – sometimes stringently – on the propriety of using trust protectors beyond the offshore asset protection trust context. In this session we Matt will examine the law and develop a framework for practicing with trust advisors and protectors in new and more sophisticated ways.

The Bucket Plan®
$25.00The two biggest risks to a systematic withdrawal plan are inflation, and something known as “sequence-of-return risks”.
So taxes go up and income goes down for a surviving purpose.(Purchase of this product will include an Video & Audio recording and a PDF copy of the presentation.)

Captive Insurance Companies – Opportunities and Hazards
$25.00Too many times promoters try to sell an idea to clients for the wrong purpose, which only drives eventual client dissatisfaction and IRS scrutiny. Join Celia and Joe as they discuss appropriate goals and needs of the client, along with the intent of the laws and code sections as they relate to planning for captives.

What Matters?

But when asked what we value most in life the majority of people say: family, health, friends, values, skills, and relationships. Furthermore, when asked what the biggest investment we ever made in our lives was, people typically respond with the time, energy, love, and commitment they made in building their family. “What Matters” will introduce you to a more holistic view of Family Wealth.
