March 2026

March 5 – EO Advantage: Unlocking Employee Ownership for Your Clients; presented by Stacey Smith and Zarin Kresge
Over half of all U.S. business owners are 55 or older, and the looming “Silver Tsunami” of retirements is expected to impact nearly 2.9 million businesses. Yet selling a business is no easy feat – only 20% find a buyer, and less than 30% transition to the next generation. That leaves over half of these businesses at risk of closure.
Employee ownership offers a compelling alternative – one that checks key boxes for exiting owners, including liquidity, legacy, and fair valuation, while preserving local jobs and community-rooted businesses.
While the Silver Tsunami presents real risks to business continuity, it also creates opportunity. This session will equip exit planners and business advisors with insights into employee ownership as a practical, profitable succession strategy – and a way to stand out in a competitive advisory landscape.

March 26 – Credibility Meets Visibility: Closing the Trust Gap; presented by Rob Pene
Most advisors have the skill. Few have the spotlight. Clients tend to trust the expert they can see, not the one with the strongest track record. This session shows how to turn your current work, reports, talks, emails, interviews, and case studies, into clear social content that builds trust at scale. Rob will share a few simple steps you can use today to spark attention, build trust, and drive new business. Learn how to shape your position in the market and help your business owner clients do the same.

April 2026

April 2 – Maximizing the Value of Existing Life Insurance Policies – For Corporate Advisors and Trust & Estate Professionals; presented by Doug Himmel
While more than 90% of life insurance is typically lapsed or surrendered, strategic use of Life Settlements provides a powerful alternative: they allow clients to exit unneeded policies without lapsing them, turning dormant insurance into usable capital. Doug will share how this option does not replace tax or estate planning – it enables it by bringing additional funds to a transition or transaction, helping Advisors align their clients’ charitable, estate, and liquidity goals.

April 9 – Pre-empted for Orange County EPI Chapter Meeting
Join us for “Designing a Smarter Exit: Leveraging Real Estate to Enhance Business Sale Outcomes” presented by Jeff Kim and Stephanie Gilezan. For full description and to register, go to: www.SCInstitute.org/EPIOC

April 16 – The Intersection of Estate and Business Entity Planning; presented by Kate Langmore, Esq. and Victoria Ralis, Esq.
A comprehensive estate plan includes consideration of all your client’s assets, including business interests and fundamental entity planning such as formation of LLCs for asset protection of rental properties, commercial buildings, and business interests.  Join Kate and Victoria to help your clients understand their options for using entity planning as well as the potential benefits including asset protection, privacy, increased organization, smooth transition planning, and avoidance of issues common to entity planning such as title transfers (including mortgage due-on-sale clauses), evaluation of existing insurance coverage, and compliance with entity formalities (including the Corporate Transparency Act).

April 23 – Your Security Mindset: The Missing Layer in Protecting Your Most Valuable Assets; presented by Traci Shirachi
Just as we implement layered strategies to safeguard our client’s financial portfolio, their personal and family security requires a similarly sophisticated, holistic approach. Relying solely on standard deterrents – alarms and security details – is reactive. Genuine security is proactive, driven by strategic planning, tactical coordination, and a practiced protective mindset. Traci will share tips for helping your clients move beyond the basics, ensuring a seamless integration of physical resources and human intelligence to manage risk effectively, protecting the assets that matter most.

April 30 – Pre-empted for Strazzeri Mancini LLP and Southern California Institute Team Building Event
Every 5th Thursday, the Strazzeri Mancini LLP and Southern California Institute Teams close the offices early to enjoy an afternoon of fun team building activities.
