Southern California Institute Family Business Forums in Association with San Diego State University’s
L
avin Entrepreneurship Center

Family Business Forums (FBFs) serve the unique educational (legal, financial, tax, governance, & succession), interpersonal, and growth needs of families through yearly programming that include: 8 monthly round table sector family meetings, 3 FBF group full day conferences, and 3 FBF group social events.

First started in 2004 and coordinated through Carmen Bianchi, FBFs provide for three distinct sectors of family business: up to $20million, $20 – $80million, and over $80million in annual revenue.

The purpose of the associated relationship is to help the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center find innovative ways to serve the growth needs of closely held and family businesses and to provide opportunities for the Lavin Center students to build their professional networks by meeting and interacting with owners and key executives of prominent family businesses.

Students interested in participating may contact Ami Doshi at SDSU’s Fowler College of Business.

The Executive Director of SCI, Shelley Lightfoot says; “We are thrilled to join forces with Alex, Carmen, and the Advisory Board at the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center to serve the growth needs of local family businesses.  By combining the prior Family Business Forum’s format, along with SCI’s years of experience in providing resources, innovation, event management, and building collaborative relationships, we will drive unparalleled value for the families and students who participate.”

Joe Strazzeri, co-owner of SCI and partner of Strazzeri Mancini LLP commented: “The Lavin Center has become a stellar example of what can result when academic talent, local industry and private donors join forces. SCI’s association will expand that reach even further by enhancing the Center’s visibility and inspiring businesses to ‘give back’ as well as increase student opportunities for mentorship with business owners and hands on networking.”
